BREAKING NEWS: CPP vice president: "I will respect Hun Sen's decision to select a future PM"

PHNOM PENH: The Vice President of the Cambodian People's Party, Sar Kheng, said that he respected Hun Sen's decision to select a future Prime Minister.

In a message to his compatriots today, Sar Kheng stated that he has always respected and supported the decision of the General Assembly and the convention of the Cambodian People's Party in the election of Hun Sen as President of the People's Party and Prime Minister for this and subsequent terms.

He added that he will respect Techo Hun Sen's decision to select a candidate for the Prime Minister in the future.

"As for the selection of the future Prime Minister, I will also abide by the decision of the Cambodian People's Party, which has Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen as its president," he said.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of National Road 11 connecting Prey Veng to Tbong Khmum on the morning of December 6, Prime Minister Hun Sen confirmed that he is support for Hun Manet's candidacy for Prime Minister in the future between 8 to 10 years more. Prime Minister stated that as a father, supporting his children is not wrong, and the principles in the party, even if Mr. Hun Manet has the support of his father, who is the party president, he still must go through the party's general assembly to approve the candidates. If there are more candidates, the party will have to vote for the candidate with the most support.

According to Prime Minister, in addition to his son Hun Manet, there are three other people that he prefers to be the next prime ministerial candidate.
